This was unexpected, so please accept my apologies for no ready-to-go update here! The game is currently playable on old patch for a while, until Second Dinner changes that...Let's look at what changed:
UI / Shop Changes
Load screen has been updated. In the screen that used to have News / Videos, an Inbox is now present (presumably so devs can send stuff, such as the Shield vs Hydra 100 credit reward to come).
Default FPS is now 30.
Variant Rarity System added - this may not take effect until the next up-coming shop refresh (it did not seem to update old prices in shop). Roughly 75% of variants are now labeled as "Rare" and cost 700 gold. Other variants will be labeled as "Super Rare" and cost 1200 gold.
Localization / languages have been updated.
Welcome Bundle
A "Welcome Bundle" has been added to the shop. It contains 700 gold, a Captain America Avatar, and a Captain America variant. The price point in USD is 70% off of the base-rate for 700gold (700gold is normally $10 USD, this bundle is $3 USD).
Card Updates
Bishop - [3/2] to [3/1].
Honestly, this is a good change. I like that it's small, but Bishop and Angela were both just "add to every deck!". A small step to start is great.
Magik - Added text "You can't play this on turn 6."
It felt bad to have a surprise turn 7 that you were not planning for, so a change such as this is okay. That said, now you can't even play it for 3 power if desired, which feels a little bad. I think some decks that really were just using her as a "draw an extra card to hit combo pieces" will still be okay running her, but she won't be a card used to scam people and just played in every deck. Probably a good change? The numbers are as follows:
66.67% - she's good, but you devote your turn5 to her.
8.33% - oof, you drew her on turn6, she's awful.
25% - you didn't draw her, no big deal.
ALL THAT SAID, Sera very much enjoyed Sera on 5 into Magik + a 3-drop on turn6, and this nerf is huge in that deck.
Mister Negative - [4/1] to [4/-1]
Oof. Not much to say. I think he was a little overrated at [4/1]. I think he's actually bad now (yes, you can still climb with him).
Nakia - Now gives +2 power to the 2 leftmost cards in your hand.
Nice to be able to know and somewhat target what she will buff. I'm willing to pass on judging her for now, but don't put too much faith in this being good enough.
I should start a petition. She should change to change this location into Wakandan Embassy. It's thematic, it matches her character, it let's her support up-coming Wakandan heroes, and it's fair because opponent gets buffs also.
Ronan - [5/0] to [5/3] and Ongoing now gives +2 power per card in opponent's hand instead of +3.
Good change. He was quite good at +3. I'm happy they compensated his power a little. He is less punished by Rogue/Enchantress also, for what it's worth. He will be more consistent and less extreme.
Goose - see Location Updates below.
Strong decks post-patch?
Sera Miracle is quite happy with Magik and Negative changes. This would be my initial take on the best deck. Come check out the snap.fan discord and talk with us!
After that, I think Itsy Bitsy Spider is in a good place.
DDEstroyer and some variants within were untouched.
Bounce Bros is a solid deck (I do not think Miles makes the cut).
Hela survived, but I've never been a fan, personally.
Location Updates
Crimson Cosmos, The Big House, Hellfire Club
These locations all restrict based on mana cost. PRIOR, this used "base cost" to restrict. So if Wave changed a 1-drop to be 4 cost in hand, you could still play it in Big House (no 4, 5, 6) and not in Crimson Cosmos (no 1, 2, 3).
This has been changed. These locations ALL look at current cost rather than base cost. Goose functions similarly, using current cost rather than base cost...so the turn after Wave is played, under normal circumstances, no cards can be played into Goose's lane as they all cost 4 now. Sera being in play and lowering said cards to 3 cost would of course, allow them to be played there.
Known Issues
There are numerous listed "known issues" as well. I am not going to list them all, but say that some things listed here contradict what I have in my play order article, including Jubilee pulling Lockjaw, how Captain Marvel works, and more. I'm honestly unsure on their take here, as basically every card was formulaic in how it interacted, hence me writing what I did. I hope they make core rules updates rather than update specific cards only.
