Read on for all the details for the Snap.fan March Open!
Critical Details
- Free to enter. For everyone.
- Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, March 18th at 12pm noon EST to begin.
- Registration is open...now. It is capped at 300 people.
- You must submit your deck. Deck is set for the duration of the tournament. Changes are NOT allowed once the tournament stats. That said, when you signup, your deck is not locked until the tournament stats and you can change your signup until day of tournament.
- Battlefy is the platform that will be used for handling the tournament. The snap.fan community discord is available if you need someone to talk to or run into a problem, but things should be fluid with battlefy. Deck submission, tournament check in, tournament reporting, standings, etc are all on there. Be sure you take a screenshot of your victory to help settle disputes!
- There will be 8 rounds of Swiss. For those that do not know, Swiss as a format is simply 1v1 matches based on your current Win/Loss score. These matches are Best-of-1 battlemode. That means you complete one full battle mode match with your opponent.
- Decklists are closed for the Swiss rounds.
- Swiss rounds are limited to 40 minutes, with a 5 minute grace window to match up and pair with your opponent. The first round will also have an extra 5 minutes added to help people get familiar with the platform.
- At the end of the Swiss rounds, there will be a cut to top-8. Throughout the Swiss, wins are worth 3 points, losses 0 points, and draws 1 point per player. Intentional Draws are permitted. Total points will be the first deciding factor. Tiebreaker is "Opponent Match Winrate" or OMW.
- Top-8 will be single elimination Best-of-3 battlemode. That means you do up to 3 full battlemodes with the winner being whomever wins 2 full battlemode matches. If you lose the BO3, you are out. :(
- Top-8 decklists will be open. This is only for top-8. Swiss is still closed as mentioned previously.
- The first top-8 round will have 4 simultaneous games. The second round after cut (top-4) will be back-to-back games so that all of the top-4 games can be broadcast.

Other Details
- Will be broadcast live at https://www.twitch.tv/defaultdan.
- Snap.fan Premium should be available sometime during the week of March 6th.
- There will be followup done to look at deck/card stats from the tournament as a whole, with an added focus on the top-8 (and perhaps some light interviews!).
