Hello fellow Snappers!
Drewberry teaming back up again with Snap.Fan to talk about the NEW season pass card: PHOENIX FORCE!
There are a lot of reasons to love this card. A splash of destruction, movement, stat buffs, on reveals and a new mechanic in RESURRECT! We've seen Hela bring back discarded cards. But we have yet to see a card return from the 'destroy' grave. I see the Phoenix Force working in two ways.
- Focus destroy a specific target so that Phoenix Force can resurrect it for a powerful combo.
- Destroy as many cards as possible and play Phoenix Force for the stat boost on board.
BUT WAIT! There's more...
The resurrected card can MOVE once! It is an incredible bonus to be able to move the card on the final turn, provided Phoenix Force was played on turn 5. This opens up a lot of added synergies with the movement package, which it greatly benefits from.
Important Phoenix Force Notes
- Only revives YOUR destroyed cards.
- Does NOT require 2 open slots at a location.
- Does NOT work with.. Wolverine/Deadpool/Sabretooth
- On Reveals CAN activate after the resurrection.
- Does NOT work with Wong or Kamar-Taj directly (the copied on reveal, however, can).
Pros
- If played on 5, can move to unplayable locations.
- If it revives a 1-Power card, net value is 7 power. = Visionin a worse case scenario!
- Destroy, On Reveal and Move synergies.
Cons
- RNG effect if multiple cards have been destroyed.
- Requires setup for full value. May be slow as a 5-drop.
- LOW variant value. The card merges immediately, meaning you'll rarely see your cool new variant on the board!
Surf Force
Birdmen
Water Phoenix
The Season Pass is becoming even more valuable with the changes to the Snap economy (which should be dropping on July 11th). So, if you're interested in this card but don't want to spend a lot of money on the game, I highly recommend picking up this season pass! This card might not break the meta. But it will FOR SURE be good in a few lists.
