Valley of the Hand
Wait, wait, wait...our second 'revival' mechanic is coming to Marvel Snap? Move over Phoenix Force, this seems to be a LOT more exciting (for at least 24 hours)! These are the kinds of Featured Locations I love to see for a day...but hate to see randomly in ranked mode. So, let's dive into it!
The Featured Location from August 15th, 2023 at 11pm EST to August 16th, 2023 at 11pm EST is Valley Of The Hand. As a featured location, it will have a 50% chance to appear in any ladder match. Now you must make a choice:
- Build INTO It
- Build AROUND It
- Ignore it
How to Build INTO it
- The 4-pack kill-pack of Carnage, Venom, Deathlok & Killmonger is a no-brainer but still worth noting. You can't revive it without first destroying it!
- I'm going on the idea that when cards are revived, they also reactivate their On Reveal effects (similarly to reviving with Phoenix Force. So, then, I love the idea of Yondu today being a double effect that can create easy fodder to lower the price of Death.
- Buckey Barnes ends up equating to a 2-cost card that will net two 6-power Winter Soliders with this double attempt mechanic that Valley of the Hand provides.
- Daken = More Muramasas = More scaling. Need I say more?
- The NTW herself could end up being both a great offensive AND defensive move here after destruction and revival. So, she could be a stellar chuck in on a Destroy/Surfer build.
How to Build AROUND it
- Lane control will be king! Clog it up with rocks from Debrii or your own Titania. Or, move other cards of theirs INTO the lane with Stegron & Spider-Man. Or, if you're a fan of the Ongoing Thanos deck, publishing a Psylocke on 3 into Professor X on 4 and locking down that lane would stop all regenerations (except Jeff).
When all else fails, destroy it.
- Running either Scarlet Witch, Magik, Storm or Rhino will switch the location, therefore eliminating the ability entirely.
