Hey guys, welcome back once again to another deck build, breakdown and showcase. The deck of the day is the Janejaw deck which makes use of Lockjaw and Jane Foster. Now of course there are a long list of variations for this deck, but from what I've tested this is by far the most consistent for me.
My variation uses Kingpin, Aero and Magneto as a secondary play and key cards for the deck. The usual con for the other Janejaw deck variations is usually the lack of control and widespread power. Most Janejaw decks just pump a shit ton of high-cost cards without actually considering card value and actual gameplay interactions on a worst-case scenario basis. You have decks that make use of Leech which in my opinion is an absolute great deck, then you have Janejaw decks that don't make use of Doom which in my opinion is terrible since you're running Lockjaw. There is so much added value to using Doom that you just can't see it until you play around it, especially with Sandman running rampant nowadays.
Now, as I have explained and showcased in the video where you can see there are several situations where you do not even have Lockjaw from turn 1-5. This is where Thor, Jane, Aero, Kingpin and Mags (even Doom) come in clutch for that huge cube win.
Of course, I won't sugarcoat the deck and make it sound like the best variation out there since it definitely has its flaws. For one, your opponent sees you play Kingpin, and they play around your Kingpin turn 6. Cosmo & Shang Chi exists, and Maximus is annoying against the deck. All decks have their flaws, and it's up to you to see how consistent it wins games.
As for cards, if you want to get more info as to why I have some of the cards in there then watch the video.
Let's talk interactions:
Nightcrawler is a nice addition to the deck. Why?
Nightcrawler gives movement, flexibility and if he pops out of Lockjaw's location then he can act as a placeholder to prevent your opponent from filling up that slot. Once you're ready to drop then move crawler to another location and play a 0 drop in that slot. Simple gameplay.
Nightcrawler is also great for several locations as a standalone like Sanctum Sanctorum, Deaths Domain, and even Space Throne as a placeholder to prevent a goblin play. Why not play a card that give you added value?????
Doom, I don't need to explain enough. Read my previous statement above and also think about other Doom interactions with locked up locations like Sanctum Sanctorum, Storm's Flooding/Flooded, Death's Domain, etc.
Kingpin. Who would use such a card when it's easy to counter?
This is just for you to answer yourself. Like I noted earlier, yes he can be countered hard and in some cases that does happen, but it doesn't defeat the idea of using him as an added value card in the deck since you're using Aero and Mags. I have had matches where Kingpin turn 6 is what gives me my win.
Aero. Aero has her own tier and does not need an explanation as to why she's busted.
Death. Why?
She's added value and also once you find yourself playing against a lot of destroy decks and Galactus deck you will appreciate using her in the deck.
Magneto is a game-changing card in my opinion and is that one card that if I can slot in every deck, I use then I would. The ability to play around with your opponent's Darkhawk, Dracula (which is hard to counter if it works), Wong, Mystique... I could go on and on and on and on about why Magneto is a great card.
Thanks for reading through my large breakdown, please take your time to watch the video and if you have any questions feel free to ask and make a comment. If you like what you see then I'd appreciate a subscribe, as we have more decks to showcase. You can always check my community posts for what I have schedules for the next 5 days. Thanks, and have a great day.
