Original Deck idea from a reddit user. See post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelsnapcomp/comments/14l7qya/my_competitive_shanna_deck_competes_well_with_top/
I like experimenting with new and weird decks. This one is neat while also being good. The poster notes that the deck is stronger in ladder because a large element of its success is in the surprise. For reference, the original deck uses Titania over Debrii. I've found that Debrii is generally easier to use although with both a power and energy cost difference of 2, Titania is obviously the better card assuming you can manage her ability. As an aside she works as an added cushion in case you have to play Shanna raw and pull Zero by accident.
Original poster likely has a better write up than me, but just some notes from my time using this deck for a little while:
- Because Shanna spawns three cards, she can slam out a ton of power depending on your draw. However, she is best played either Turn 6 OR under Invisible Woman. Why? Well because the draw you get is random, you can pull some really detrimental cards like Maw or the before mentioned Zero. These can disrupt the next turn's strategy and play so badly, you might end up having to concede. Hence the deck's name "Surprise Shanna" or "Hidden Shanna"
- If you draw Zabu and Invisible Woman by Turn 2, I've found that IW is more important of the two. Being able to hide your Ongoings in this deck is generally pretty important. Zabu, as long as he is played before 6, can still supply you with the 1 Energy discount for your 4s, which lets you slap two 4s on Turn 6. In short, Zabu just has a better play window here.
- Dazzler is very likely going to hit her max value - as will Ant Man because the deck is really good at flooding lanes. If you have a choice between the two, Debrii before Dazzler is usually the better option just because Debrii's disruption will have a greater lasting effect. As with the above, Dazzler has a wide play window that stretches all the way to Turn 6.
- Valkyrie + Antman can steal lanes real easy on 6. You need to lose priority but with IW out, that's not that difficult at all.
- Don't overlook Shadow King and Shang. Both tech cards are good in this deck to neutralize an opponent outpowering you, which is all the rage these days. Shang's higher cost makes him prohibitive to use without Zabu though, so that's the kicker. Playing Shadow King + Shang on 6 though can stuff a lot of plays. In particular, playing them behind IW is great because it guarantees you won't have priority.
- I typically find Squirrel Girl to be some what more of a liability but she has obvious synergy in this deck. Be wary of Killmongers because a Killmonger won't just snipe out your Squirrels but also make you lose Valk and Dazzler set ups. Hiding Shanna prevents a greater number of bodies as well.
- Mojo works as a sub over Squirrel Girl because the deck is still good at flooding lanes and pretty much ensures you a 2-8 against Bounce, which is part of the meta these days. It can't be Shang'd or Cosmo'd, Shadow King doesn't work on it (it's Ongoing) and people don't expect it. Also decreases your Killmonger vulnerability. However, he's pretty situational because if his Ongoing doesn't kick in, he's just a 2-2. For a 2 cost, there are obviously better power choices.
