New Moon π
With this deck, you have a lot of flexibility in how you play. It operates on the notion that Ronan, on his own, is not strong enough to be the only win condition.
We use all the cards in our deck to charge up Ronan and make him a bigger threat in a particular lane or bait and switch by using Gorr to close out games.
Let's talk about early game!
π Early Game π
- Ideally, you play Psylocke on turn 2, as she allows you to play Storm, Jubilee, or Jessica early. If possible, play Storm on turn 3 and follow up with Jessica on turn 4. You'd be surprised to see how many opponents are unprepared for a 17-damage threat by turn 4. π
- This early play serves two functions: against decks that don't have an answer for Storm, it provides a free lane win, allowing us to stack heavy damage in other lanes. Secondly, it gives us a chance to control the tempo of the match.
- If you canβt play Storm, go for your other 4-drops. Also, if you donβt manage to play Psylocke, go for Mold! As long as youβre not facing a discard deck, we use this early play to make Ronan stronger later in the game.
π Mid/End Game π
- Turn 5 is where things start to pick up speed! If Magik is already in play and we have She-Hulk and Ronan in hand, we can skip turn 5 to reduce She-Hulkβs cost and then play both Ronan and She-Hulk together on turn 6. On turn 7, weβll typically have the option to close out the game with either Gorr or Mystique, depending on the board state and strategy needed.
- As mentioned earlier, this deck provides multiple avenues to victory! You can choose to play Ronan on turn 5, follow up with Gorr on turn 6, and then use Mystique, Maximus, Mold, or even Psylocke on turn 7 to supercharge Gorr or Ronan, delivering a devastating finish. π
- When considering your play lines, keep this in mind: the entire deck is designed to power up both Gorr and Ronanβtheyβre the star players. She-Hulk is situational, while Storm and Armor are the technical cards we rely on to ensure a proper setup.
π Tips π
- One thing you can do is surprise your opponent with Storm by using her to remove Limbo, securing a win when they expect you to play for the extra turn from Limbo.
I hope you enjoy this deck as much as I did. Have a great snap day on the new moon! π
