Let's take a look at Spider-Man 2099...
Note: Some of the above variants are datamined at the time of article release and are subject to SD's backend release decisions.
Spider-Man 2099 is a 4/6 with an Static effect of "The first time this moves to a location, destroy an enemy card there."
Hello fellow Snappers! Drewberry here again, and I'm teaming up with Snap.fan to share some of my thoughts on the new card: Spider-Man 2099.
With the new movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse being released earlier this month, there has been A LOT of hype surrounding Spider-Man 2099 joining Marvel Snap. BUT, tokens aren't cheap, which raises the question: Should you buy Spider-Man 2099 on release?
Well let's break down his mechanics to give you a better understanding of this card.
- Destroys one card. Multiple movements will not reactivate this card’s trigger; it is a one-time effect only.
- You cannot destroy face-down cards.
- The target is random if there's more than one card at the enemy location.
Synergies
Counters
Great Destroy Targets
Here are some theory-crafted deck-lists that I believe could work with Spiderman 2099:
Seek & Destroy
Darkhawk 2099
Canon Event
The best part of this card is that it only costs 3000 tokens! With a lot of exciting cards coming next month it might be worth passing on Spider-Man 2099. However, if you love movement and love destroying your opponents’ favorite card... this one might be for you!
